"Music in the soul can be heard by the universe." -Lao Tzu

Eric Chin, American born Taiwanese-violinist, comes from a talented family of musicians: pianists, vocalist, cellist, and flautist.  Surrounded by music since birth, Mr. Chin was fortunate enough to be introduced to both the violin and piano at a young age.  Focusing his efforts on the violin, he won his first professional audition at age 17 and became the youngest member of the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mr. Chin has since been an avid performer as a soloist, concertmaster, and chamber musician.  He founded the award-winning Nexus String Quartet and was a member of the Hausmann String Quartet.  Mr. Chin has performed across the United States as well as in Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Taiwan.  He now serves as violinist and co-artistic director of the Telegraph Quartet.

In addition to performing, Mr. Chin also finds passion in teaching.  He was on faculty at San Diego State University as  Artist-in-Residence and Lecturer  teaching violin and chamber music and was invited as a guest to give master classes and perform at Taiwan Normal University (中 文 網 站), Tunghai University (東海大學), National PinTung Univesrity of Education (國立屏東教育大學), Wenzao Ursuline College (文藻外語學), and the National Taiwan University of Arts (國立臺灣藝術大學).

Mr. Chin has had the pleasure of performing with some of the most well known musicians of our time including Ian Swensen, Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, Sarah Chang, Gil Shaham, Roberto Diaz, and Roger Tapping.
